Song Covers

Using a British technique that was originally used to quaintly reproduce ancient brass plaques found in churches built between the 13th and 16th centuries, these simple rubbings are intended to be brutally modern whilst having their roots firmly planted in tradition.
Written around each of the Covers are the borrowed lyrics of famous songs that were inspired by the area from where the rubbings were taken.

The resulting Song Covers depict the familiarity of a place in modern culture that most will instantly recognize – even though they may never have physically been to the cities represented.
